Drama movie from 2019, directed by Todd Phillips. IMDb score: 8.3.
Arthur Fleck, a lonely man struggling with mental illness who works as a party clown, dreams of becoming a stand-up comic in a poor, violent Gotham. After being rejected by society again and again, he begins to spiral into darkness.
Why watch: A dark, disturbing character study, more psychological thriller than superhero movie; not for everyone.
